About Charterwa

Charterwa is a business-to-business marketplace for commercial vessel chartering, sale and purchase enquiries, and maritime technical services across Nigeria and West Africa.

What the marketplace does

Vessel owners publish specifications and reported availability. Charterers inspect those specifications and send a charter requirement to the operator. Service contractors publish class and statutory credentials and receive scope enquiries. Shipyard enquiries are recorded so they can be followed up. Charterwa is the meeting place for those conversations. It is not the shipowner, the charterer, or the classification society.

Where we work

The catalogue is built for the Gulf of Guinea and the wider West African coast: Lagos (Apapa, Tin Can and Lekki), Onne, Warri, Bonny, Escravos, and neighbouring hubs in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. Cabotage, NIMASA and class requirements remain the responsibility of the parties and their flag and coastal states.

How listings are treated

A published listing is a commercial representation, not a warranty of seaworthiness, class status, or title. Platform administrators review companies, representation mandates, and credentials that are submitted for review. Availability shown on a listing is reported by the operator and should be confirmed in writing before a fixture. A physical condition survey and class inspection at port remain the prudent step before mobilisation funds or a charter party are finalised.

What we do not do

Charterwa does not hold freight, hire, or purchase money in escrow, and it does not execute the charter party or sale memorandum for the parties. Commercial terms are agreed between the companies involved and should be recorded in a formal contract. Indicative day rates and asking prices on the site are not offers.
